Those things about the new energy vehicle charging system(1)

For new energy vehicles, the cruising range has to go far, the energy storage of the power battery must keep up, and the subsequent charging operation cannot be ignored. Today, I will take you to know about the new energy vehicle charging system.

1. Terminology:

1. New energy vehicle power supply equipment (EVSE)

Refers to external charging equipment for charging plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and pure electric vehicles, including all power supply equipment connected to AC voltage and with charging plugs.

2. AC charging

It refers to the method of charging the power battery pack after rectifying the alternating current into direct current through the on-board charger.

3. DC charging

Refers to the method of charging the power battery by direct current.

4. Charge Disconnect Device (CCID)

Refers to the leakage protection device in the charging line. When it detects that the vehicle has leakage, the CCID will interrupt the current between the charging cable and the vehicle.

5. Charger

Refers to equipment that converts alternating current output from electrical equipment or other power supply equipment into direct current charging current. On-board chargers are installed on the vehicle, and off-board chargers are part of EVSE.

6. Charge connector

Also known as a charging gun, a device that is inserted into the car charging port to charge the power battery.

7. Charging port/Charge inlet

Refers to the electrical sockets installed on electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles, usually behind a protective cover. The technical standard of the charging port or charging socket must be consistent with the charging plug inserted into the vehicle in order to be charged.

8. Charging cable

A multi-finger portable charging unit that plugs into the vehicle at one end and into a 220V wall outlet at the other end.

9. Charging station

A stationary device that delivers electrical energy to a plug-in hybrid or pure electric vehicle, typically installed in a home garage, workplace, parking lot, or public area. According to the charging time, there are DC charging piles and AC charging piles.
